TÄPP COLLECTIVE
“Täpp are breaking down classical music and restructuring it into a sound that celebrates both old and new, chipping away at the notions of stereotypes and shattering expectations in the process.” Bestnewbands.com
Täpp are a dynamic and experimental loop pedal music collective, led and managed by violinist Rebekah Reid. This modern ensemble creates genre-defying and captivating original music with the aim to break stereotypes, stimulate your curiosity and awaken a new music movement.
Combining jazz rhythm section, classical strings and electronics with live looping and improvisation, Täpp craft unique sound worlds that capture audiences' imaginations. Over the past 3 years Täpp has evolved into an ensemble keen to push the boundaries of music and contemporary string writing. Featuring collaborations with musicians from London and Manchester, they independently released their first studio album 'I like what I do // I do what I like' in June 2021, and had notable performances at Pizza Express Jazz Club (Soho) and Royal Albert Hall - Elgar Room.
Täpp has featured in Jazzwise Magazine, Mundane Mag and Decoded Magazine appeared on Worldwide FM (Emma Warren and Debra Richards) and had spins on BBC 1Xtra (Jamz Supernova), BBC Radio 3 (Elizabeth Alker, Linton Stephens and J to Z) and BBC 6 Music (Moses Boyd sit in for Guy Garvey's show). Their second single 'Never Knew Why' was also picked up by Whistledown Productions in 2022, and used in the radio series 'Please Protect Abraham', first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in December 2022.
